Emergency Services

Lunenburg County utilizes a 911 operation system for Law Enforcement and Emergency Services.  In case of emergency, dial 9-1-1 to be connected to an operator located in the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Department.  Lunenburg County Code requires 911 Address markers for each residence in the County to assist emergency service providers in finding your location.  If your 911 address marker is damaged beyond repair or missing, please complete this application for a replacement sign: 911 Sign Request.

Lunenburg County utilizes three local Fire and Rescue Departments:

  • Kenbridge Fire Department – Fire Chief, Ferrell Alder
  • Meherrin Fire and Rescue – Chief, Trey Pyle
  • Victoria Fire and Rescue Department – Chief, Frankie Tanner
Lunenburg County is also a member of the CODE RED Severe Weather Warning System.  If you are not currently signed up for telephone alerts of severe weather, please visit the CODE RED Warning System LINK and enroll in the early warning system.
